Who is AssistedCare?
AssistedCare is a family of two individual companies, AssistedCare
Health & Home Care Specialists and AssistedCare Home Health.
Together these two companies provide in-home health care services on
a variety of levels to meet the specific home or community health
needs of your family member.
AssistedCare Health & Home Care
Specialists provides certified nursing assistants and habilitation
technicians who offer longer-term services for individuals who
wish to maintain an independent lifestyle as long as possible. Our
care providers, supervised by registered nurses, and/or qualified
professionals in the field of developmental disabilities and mental
health, are the ''helping hands," keeping your family member healthy
and independent.
AssistedCare Home Health provides in-home patient care by skilled
professionals. Registered nurses; physical, occupational and speech
therapists; certified nursing assistants; and social workers are on
staff to provide rehabilitative services under the direction of a
physician's orders.
How AssistedCare Began
AssistedCare Health & Home Care Specialists was created in 1994
after an opportunity was recognized to better meet the needs of
Medicaid and Medicare clients in southeastern North Carolina. Since
then, AssistedCare has maintained a commitment to excellence in
providing unsurpassed quality of care to both private pay and
Medicaid/Medicare clients. AssistedCare now services 10 counties in
Southeastern North Carolina and has offices in Wilmington, Elizabethtown,
Whiteville, Supply, Laurinburg, and Lumberton.
AssistedCare furthered its compassionate caring philosophy with the
creation of AssistedCare Home Health in 1997. AssistedCare Home
Health allowed
AssistedCare to expand beyond offering personal care services with the addition
of skilled nursing and
therapy services. Using a service model of clinical pathways and case management, this company
provides exceptional care to clients in New Hanover, Brunswick,
Pender, Columbus and Bladen Counties. AssistedCare Home Health
is also an approved Medicare/Medicaid provider and accepts private
insurance and private pay clients.
Memberships and Accreditations
In order for AssistedCare to meet the standards of our Mission
Statement, it is imperative that we stay abreast of changes and
advances in our industry. In addition to being aware of changes, we
are very proactive in making advancements in our industry through
participation in professional associations on both the state and
national level. AssistedCare is a member of the Association for Home
and Hospice Care of North Carolina, the National Association of Home
Care, and the North Carolina Community Support Providers Council.
By demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission
on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization’s national standards for
health care quality and safety, AssistedCare has earned the Joint
Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™. Founded in 1951, the Joint
Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and
quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation.
AssistedCare, which provides Home Health, Personal Care and Mental
Health/Developmental Disabilities services, received the
accreditation award after the Joint Commission found that it had
demonstrated compliance with the Joint Commission's national
standards for home care organizations. Russell Herring, President/CEO, says Joint Commission
accreditation shows that "we make a significant investment in
quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down. We sought
accreditation for our organization because we want to be the best
and we view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step
toward excellence."
